CALEX^® Cap Stool Preparation Device

The BÜHLMANN CALEX^® Cap has been introduced to fulfill the requirements of convenient and safe stool preparation. The optimized dilution of stool sample yields maximum extraction efficiency while offering a stability of the extracts for various days at room temperature. CALEX^® Cap is the first and only stool preparation device suitable for safe air and land transportation according to IATA 650 (UN3373) regulations. The preparation using CALEX^® Cap not only offers hygienic stool sampling, but is also a highly precise, quantitative stool extraction device characterized by an outstanding correlation to the gold standard manual extraction.

Furthermore, the design of the CALEX^® Cap is fully compatible with automated procedures such as the BÜHLMANN fCAL^® turbo and the BÜHLMANN fPELA^® turbo, the random access immunoturbidimetric calprotectin and pancreatic elastase assays, respectively. Optimized dilution of stool extracts provides access to any of BÜHLMANN calprotectin assays such as Quantum Blue^® and the BÜHLMANN fCAL^® ELISA.

The CALEX^® Valve stool preparation device was introduced in combination with IBDoc^® combining stool preparation and pipetting in one device. It is based on the CALEX^® Cap but features a valve that allows the release of a specified amount of stool extract directly onto a lateral flow test cassette. CALEX^® Valve is intended for use in the BÜHLMANN calprotectin home testing application IBDoc^®.
