Anti-GM1 antibodies:

Microtiter Plates of the anti-GM1-GM ELISA Kit are uniformly coated with GM1 antigen. There are many different options for using the plate and two are shown in Figures below:

Indications for use of anti-GM1 ELISA
Antibodies to ganglioside M1 (GM1, anti-GM1). IgG antibodies) are implicated in the pathogenesis of Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) and anti-GM1 IgM antibodies in multifocal neuropathy (MMN) and motor neuron disease (MND).
GM1 IgM antibodies may be present as monoclonal IgM paraprotein or as a polyclonal IgM. Polyclonal IgG may be detected in patients with motor neuropathies. High GM1 antibody titers may be detected in association with in Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) following Campylobacter jejuni infection.
The fact that GM1 is the only common Glycolipid antigen reactive with all of the GM1 antibodies found in motor nerve disorders suggests that it is the relevant target antigen in neural tissue.
