The BÜHLMANN GanglioCombi® ELISA product group offers a choice of different, quantitative anti-ganglioside assays in different formats so meet the request for both small- to large-sized laboratories and neurologists. All assays of this product group have a common standardisation thus allowing inter-assay and inter-laboratory comparability. Each of these assays includes a defined Clibrator - as well as 3 controls of different titers. Results are expressed as %ratio.

Each of these assays includes a defined Calibrator - as well as 3 controls of different titers. Results are expressed as %ratio.
The formats of this product group include:

• BÜHLMANN GanglioCombi®-Light ELISA; combining on one Microtiter plate the clinically most relevant gangliosides, GD1b, GQ1b and GM1, inclusive individual IgG and IgM conjugate.
• BÜHLMANN GanglioCombi® ELISA. Both versions of GanglioCombi® offer a selection of the 6 six clinically most relevant gangliosides: GM1, asialo-GM1 (GA1), GM2, GD1a, GD1b and GQ1b and the GanglioCombi is equipped with one Microtiter plate and an IgG/ Mix conjugat.
• GanglioCombi-GM version is equipped with 2 Microtiter plates and one individual conjugate of each, IgG and IgM.
• Anti-GM1 ELISA allows analysing the most frequent anti-ganglioside antibody with IgG and/or IgM conjugate.

In addition to the new BÜHLMANN GanglioCombi ELISA^®  product group, the neuroimmunology portfolio contains a very sensitive and specific anti-MAG and anti-SGPG antibody assays. The anti-Interferon-ß BAB ELISA is the only commercial ELISA assay for anti-interferon ß antibody screening.

Common features:

Standardisation: Any of the tests contains a Calibrator from defined material as well as 3 Controls: medium, low and negative. The alignment of Calibrator and Controls in any of the “Combi (GanglioCombi, GanglioCombi-GM and GanglioCombi-Light)” assays should be done as follows:

As to the anti-GM1 ELISA assay there are several options:

Clinically evaluated cut-off based on an internal study consisting of a large number of N=200 normal blood donors (putative healthy blood donors, clinically not clarified) as well as a significant number of N=279 clinically defined serum samples we suggest a clinically evaluated cut-off at a %ratio of 50%.

The new cut-off value is combined with a quantisation of %ratio (titer) categories which are based on the same study data so to facilitate interpretation of results for clinicians.
